Responsible for producing balanced, great sounding radio for programmes on National Radio Stations within the group such as Times Radio and TalkSPORT. Working closely with Show Producers by mixing and influencing the sound of the program through Telos AxiaFusion audio consoles.

Accountable for putting presenters and guests to air and dialling up and performing line tests with contributors through various sources including; Phone, Comrex, ISDN, Skype, FaceTime and Zoom. In charge of scheduling and controlling studio playout system RCS Zetta as well as news gathering systems Burli and NewsBoss

Breakfast Presenter & Producer Hope FM

Produce and Present the Hope FM Breakfast Show. Responsible for the programme from beginning to end which requires an understanding of OFCOM broadcast regulations. Produce and create social media content before and after shows to promote the show and the station, posts often see a 3-4x reach compared to other content put out by the station. Interview a variety of guests from local community members to local politicians including during the major incident that was Declared in Bournemouth in 2020 that made national news headlines. During the first lockdown of 2020 quickly adapted to produce and present the programme live from home for 15 weeks. From engineering, a home studio set up in a short space of time and linking into studio output to assisting in overseeing ways of working remotely for other presenters whilst maintaining a consistent output.

Drive Show Presenter & Producer Hope FM

Broadcasted 3 drive shows a week. Responsible for pre-show research and creation of scripts surrounding current affairs, local and national news for discussion on air, and then presenting the content on air. During tenure on the drive slot increased the number of engagements into the programme with regular features encouraging engagement. Presented and produced programmes from outside locations, including from Bournemouth Pier during the 2013 and 2014 Bournemouth Air Festivals which involves supervising other presenters during their broadcasts whilst also sourcing and interviewing festival audience members, exhibitors, and display pilots. Heavily involved in the training of new presenters in the operation of studio equipment and playout systems especially during a transition between two different software.

Producer, Studio Manager, and Co-Presenter for a one-off Chalk and Cheese Special which was commissioned by Bournemouth Internet Radio Station (BIRST).  Responsible for overseeing the production of the programme including the creation of imaging, feature development, and legal compliance. Managed the assistant producer's roles ensuring the show ran smoothly and to plan.  Oversaw studio output running the broadcast desk and playout software during the broadcast.  Produced and edited visual content that was then featured online post-broadcast.

Producer and Co-Presenter Nerve Radio
Sept 2014 - July 2015

Producer and co-presenter on “Chalk and Cheese” a comedic music and talk show which was broadcasted weekly on campus, online, as well as being broadcasted on FM when the station had an RSL. Gathered content and edited any audio for the broadcast, scripting any cues needed while also running the desk during the broadcast ensuring the programme ran to time and smoothly. Responsible for overseeing the production of the podcast of the programme, including producing additional content and finding specific features or moments from the show which was then packaged into a podcast and then uploaded and distributed through iTunes. The programme went on to get recognition for its quality when it won an award for the best entertainment programme

Represented the interests of the final year BA Radio class after being elected by the class, raising any concerns and issues to lecturers that the class was having. Campaigned and succeeded in persuading the university to allow the class to go on a trip to visit Bauer Media as well as BBC Broadcasting House to see a professional working environment. Strived to improve the class’ final year at university taking their thoughts and concerns into meetings with the lecturers to help improve the course overall.

Weekend Presenter & Producer Hope FM

Presenter and producer on a weekly weekend show. The show was aimed at a younger audience between the ages of 12 and 18.  This was a different demographic than the station was primarily aimed at therefore required a significant social media presence to attract a younger audience.  The show explored subjects relating to a younger audience and encouraged engagement on the topics being discussed on air with regular phone-ins. The show also featured topical quizzes and games.

  • Experienced in RCS Zetta, Myriad v3, v4 & v5 and EncoDAD playout systems.
  • High technical understanding of editing software such as Adobe Audition and SADiE.  Able to use a variety of portable recorders including TASCAM.
  • Experienced with newsgathering systems Burli and NewsBoss as well as other studio systems such as Bionics PhoneBOX
  • Great understanding of the Ofcom Broadcast Code
  • Understand a variety of social media platforms and creating engaging content for a variety of audiences.
  • Experienced in various web development languages; HTML, CSS, Javascript (specifically React JS), as well as NodeJS backend web development. Experienced using CMS such as WordPress and Joomla and custom solutions.
  • Fast Learner and have self-taught Video and photo Editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop).
  • Great computer skills. Built desktop PCs from scratch. Knowledgeable in word-processing, using and editing databases, spreadsheets.

During three years at university produced multiple projects including; a magazine-style programme “Gizmo” that explored the world of Tech and final year Graduate Project programme that featured a range of unusual events finding out about their origins which received a first grade.

Active in various societies including the “Whovian Society”  - a Doctor Who Society and the Student Radio Station “Nerve”.  Occasionally featured at the student nightclub “The Old Fire Station” during a “Nerve Takeover” as a DJ with a live version of the show playing a variety of cheese music.  Also selected to play a live set at the end of year Student Summer Ball.
